Starcraft 2 updating setup files
first off when 5.0 came out i had the OPs problem every time, i eventually right clicked and did "troubleshoot compabibility" and got it to work that way.
today i got tired of doing that and wiped all the wow files off of my computer and now i cant re-install it because of this same "updating set-up files..." issue!
Ok, so I restarted, re-did the delete folder in progamdata. But then I get an internal error and it asks me to restart...
(A real bummer) so I went to re-install it, and whether it's online or straight from the box, it always hangs at the checking for updates window. Go to "Tools" (It's the small gear button in the upper right hand corner of Explorer)3. Close and restart the launcher I tried every other solution out there and this is the only one that worked for me. I'm having trouble with another company's games because their games use Java and the department of homeland security says Java is vulnerable, so I haven't been able to play for 2 months.
it goes to 1/3 or 2/3 of the progress bar and then it just freezes. this is highly frustrating so blizzard PLEASE fix ..after a bit of trial and error i found out the following, a file called sc2xxx18.104.22.16842 en US downloader in the sc2 folder that i run before and that gave me also the looping. dam it Well what do you know, here is what i did.1.uninstaled sc22.deleted the blizzard and battlenet folder in program data.3.deleted the sc2 folder in my documents(lost all replays and saves but i dont care)4.i run a program called cc cleaner to get rid of the junk/any similar will do.5.deactivated antivirus ,firewall6.installed the game from my dvd.
When I install from the CD, it downloads, starts to patch, then jams at checking for updates screen. If the box labeled "Automatically Detect Settings" is checked then uncheck it6. I use Chrome for all my web-browsing, however switching settings in internet explorer resolved the issue! They've lost my business, others may be following soon.
When I download online, it just skips straight to checking for updates with identical results. Go to "Tools" (It's the small gear button in the upper right hand corner of Explorer)3. Close and restart the launcher I tried every other solution out there and this is the only one that worked for me.
Please help, I'm not sure what to do at this point beyond completely re-formatting windows! Just had this problem Fixed it by going into internet Explorer to. I use Chrome for all my web-browsing, however switching settings in internet explorer resolved the issue!
omg, its so annoying, it's the same for me toois it because i am in a dorm behind a proxy? Third, I opened Internet explorer just to try and see if it would fix, but cannot seem to find LAN settings. It goes into offline mode and although I never use it for some reason it always makes my downloads screw up.
